Jordan will outline objectives for his research using Virtual Reality to teach Medical Radiation Technologists and new clinical hires verbal de-escalation skills. Live simulation training has limitations and can often compromise the authenticity of the simulations. In partnership with Baycrest and the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, Michener is delivering a state-of-the-art program that fully leverages opportunities for de-escalation training, situational awareness and empathy building. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience a recorded demonstration of this collaboration.
